Q: What painkiller should I take for headaches?
I get a fairly bad headache at least once a day and Tylenol and Advil are just not helping anymore. I also get migraines and headaches that make me feel dizzy and nauseated. I have been living on Advil and Tylenol for quite a while now and both of those are starting to lose affect. Is there a really great headache medicine out there that I haven’t discovered yet? Or am I just going to have to live with these?

A: My best friend has severe headaches all the time and she doesn’t go anywhere without her Excedrin. I can’t speak from experience because I have never used it but she lives by it. There are alot of new prescription meds out there that you can take at the onset of a migraine that work well and do not have that adverse effect that narcotics have. If you are having this many headaches then I would see my family physician. It could be something serious. Good Luck.

Q: What could be causing headaches and tingling in my feet?
I have bad tingling in my feet today along with sharp headaches, I always have headaches, but the tingling in my feet is never this bad.

What could be causing this? Also it was in my hands earlier.
What should I do?

A: Those are symptons of anemia. Which is basically a low blood count.

Q: Why do I have major headaches during flight landings?
I always get really strong headaches just before landing. Lately, they have been so severe that I honestly feel like my head is going to explode. The closer the plane gets to the ground, the more pain I have. After landing, the pain eases a little but I have a headache at least a day or two afterwards. Do anyone have any suggestions?

A: It could be your sinuses.
As we ascend and decend, there are changes in the air pressure. Some people pop their ears to over come this, but you may have blocked sinus passages that dont allow you to do this.

Q: What is a good NATURAL way to cure headaches?
I’ve been having headaches daily and taking Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Aleve and nothing seems to cure the headaches. I don’t like taking pills. I like to be natural. Does anyone have any good, natural remedies to get rid of my headaches?

A: Take a look at other things. Is your back, neck, or feet hurting? Try soaking in epsom salt and doing a good rub down. Dehydrated? Drink lots of water each day. Stressed? Try some aroma therapy and rubbing down your head. Stare at computer screens all day? Try putting a cold compress on your eyes and rub your head, neck and shoulders. Watch if something your eating is corresponding to the start of them. ( powdered donuts triggered migraines for me) Some times it is a change in your hormones or even changes in the weather that can trigger it also. For times like that I use Excedrin Migraine it seems to be the only thing that actually wipes it out. I found that just 2 and I’m good for a couple of days usually. Hope this helps and good luck.

Q: How to identify what is causing headaches?
My boyfriend has been experiencing headaches. He describes them as coming on strongly, but almost as if the pain is there (on the right side) and as if a lightning storm, the pain extends. The area is sensitive to touch, but he is not sensitive to light or sound. No changes in diet, or exercise. He can only take tylenol – acetominophen base. After the initial pain, the headache usually dulls, but is constant. Does anyone know what could be causing this? He is getting enough water, so he is not dehydrated. Any suggestions?

A: Sounds to me like he could be having a sinus headache.I get them most of the time and there like what u described. If the problem persists try giving him Tylenol that will help his headache or there is another way http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-a-Headache that always helped me there is alot of ways to get rid-of them

Q: What are some causes of frequent headaches?
I’ve been having headaches every day for a while. I’ve been taking tylenol but i don’t want to take too much. What are some causes of headaches and how can I cure them?

A: the heat, stress, tension in your muscles, red meats, and unhealthy eating are all the ones i can think of…instead of taking tylenol, drink super duper cold water, and rest your head in a cool and quiet room, and just release your tension…hope youre better soon.

Q: What are severe headaches and daytime tiredness symptoms of in a woman?
Recently had a lot of severe headaches and felt tired a lot during the day.

A: It could be anything ranging from possible pregnancy to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It could be that you’re not getting enough nutrients or eating right. And it could even be stress.

If it’s just recently that it’s been happening (within a couple of weeks to maybe even a month or two) I’d say it’s just stress and I’d suggest to try to relax. Hot bath, soothing, etc.

If it’s disrupting your life or routine I would suggest talking to your family doctor. I doubt it’s anything serious, but if it’s really messing up your routine and possibly even how you function then I’d go get checked to see what it could be.

Q: Any natural remedies for headaches and dizziness?
I am a fairly healthy person, blood pressure and iron levels are good. Lately (the past week and a half) I’ve been having lots fo dizziness and some headaches. My chiropracter hasn’t been able to figure out what’s causing it yet. Though it could be related to allergies and quitting smoking (smoke free for 3 weeks now). Does anyone have suggestions for natural remedies to dizziness especially?

A: Hi! Your crown chakra is either being used too much or not enough or you are experiencing “Symptoms of ascension”. Mother earth is involved in an energy shift and we’re all a part of it. Many, many people have these same complaints and often have other “Symptoms of Ascension “. They visit the Dr. The Dr. runs tests and finds nothing wrong with them. Most likely not a serious thing and should go away. To balance your crown chakras, you can use color therapy. For this, wear the color purple or violet or blue (any shade from royal-navy). Aromatherapy: use fragrances of lavender, clary sage (very strong oil, though, frankincense, tea tree or chamomile. you can also meditate with a clear quartz crystal, amethyst or lapis lazuli. Good luck! Please click on these links. They describe the symptoms of Ascension

Q: What is a contagious illness that causes headaches?
Me and several of my flatmates have had quite bad headaches for the past few days. As far as I can tell, that is the only real symptom, but it seems strange that we would all get headaches at the same time. Can anyone suggest what the cause might be, and how best to treat it?
Carbon monoxide seems unlikely, as there’s been no changes in the system, and only a few of us are having headaches. There’s been no new painting either.

A: Carbon monoxide poisoning. Have you had the heating system checked? Anyone painting in the building – the fumes can also cause headaches as can any type of carpet shampoo/cleaner. Hope this helps.

Q: What are some ways to take away headaches without taking pills?
Lately, I’ve been getting major headaches. Every time I take some pills to deal with the pain. My concern is that this will have a bad circumstance, since I am doing this on a daily basis. What are some best ways to get rid of major headaches without taking pills? Thanks so much for the help.

A: if your getting headaches that often, it doesnt sound right. im 29 and i have had maybe 5 headaches in my life. i would go to a doctor and get checked out.

Q: Why do I get headaches after someone around me smokes a cigarette?
Whenever someone smokes, I get headaches and sometimes difficulty breathing. The pain has gotten worse over the last six months. Could anyone explain? ( I do not smoke)
I can’t really avoid it. Whenever my dad takes me out, he always smokes. At least two before arriving at the destination. I have Air Conditioning on, but no help.
He does roll down his window, have the AC on and I even have to roll my window down it’s that bad. I actually have two medicines, Cyproheptadine and something like Zyrtec.

A: Sounds like you’re allergic to smoke and quite possibly asthmatic as well. So it’s giving you a sinus headache from allergic inflammation and making your airways constrict. I’d definitely mention this to a doctor. If this is triggering asthma, your father must *not* smoke when you are present.

Q: What causes the awful headaches i am getting from taking protonix?
I have NEVER had a problem with headaches, i know they are a common side effect for the pills, but why.

A: Protonix, or Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor. This means that it is active at the mitochondrial level, preventing the movement of protons across the inner membrane which ultimately results in reduced production of ATP. ATP is a major source of energy for the cell, and therefore the body as a whole. Reduced levels of ATP can cause discomfort, which in your case (as well as others who take the drug) leads to specific side effects such as headaches.

Q: How do I break the caffeine habit without getting headaches?
I use to drink several pots of coffee daily, now I am down to a 12oz cup in the morning and a 12 oz in the afternoon. The problem I have is my job require me to get up very early sometime as early a 2:30 am. On my days off I want to sleep in but wake up between 4-5 am with a splitting headache that lasts all day. I am tired of fighting headaches on my days off and want to kick the caffeine habit altogether but the headaches are preventing me from stopping cold turkey.
Does anyone have any suggestion or have faced the same thing in the past?

A: Ween yourself off of it. Dont cold turkey it. You could start by mixing cafinated coffee with decaf. Gradually increase until your drinking full decaf, and drink plenty of water. Headaches come from dehydration.
