Q: Constant Headaches?
My mom always has constant headaches and shes always in pain. She takes a lot of tylenol but those dont work for her anymore? Any suggestions on what she should do?

A: Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

Q: constant headaches?
i have a constant headache. ive been to a doctor, an allergist, a neurologist, had a ct scan of my head, a ct scan of my sinuses, and a mer of my brain. it appears to all be normal. no medicine will help the headaches except for morphine and i cant do that too often because i work full time and need the money. so any suggestions or ideas on what it is or might be? migrane meds do not help!
i just had my eyes checked last month. i did need glasses. but it didnt help the headaches. and im already taking anxiety meds. i take 30mg of lexapro daily.

A: I use acupressure on the trigger points just below my neck between the shoulder blades. To find it, press firmly with the hand over several points in the general area. If you find a trigger point, it will be very noticeably painful. Press on that area for 30-45 seconds then let up gradually. Do both sides on the neck. I also use acupressure on the temples; hold for 30 seconds and release gradually. Both techniques can help with tension headaches.

Check your diet. If you have MSG, cheddar cheese, nitrates, nitrites, sulfites or raw onions, they can cause food-related or migraine headaches. (read all the fine print on the package!)

Keep a diary of what you eat, when you have a headache, how long the headache lasts, where the headache is on the skull and anything different in the 24 hours prior to the headache. You might find a pattern.

I had a headache for more than 20 years; it varied from mild to migraine, but never disappeared. I saw doctor after doctor and just heard: It’s all in your head. Yeah, duh! Six years ago, I started going to a headache clinic in Chicago. With food/medication changes, the headaches are rare indeed. That also included a weeks stay at a hospital with a floor for headache patients only. I found I had migraines, food induced headaches, cervical genic headaches (headaches caused by neck problems), and tension headaches. But it was worth it!

I am on an MAOI … Monoamine oxidase inhibitors…a pill; it does limit you diet, but with Whole Foods and local health food stores, I find the diet to be really easy to follow. I read a lot of fine print. For the cervical genic headaches, I receive injections: either epidural or facet injections at a suburb clinic in Chicago.

If you need to contact me for more information, e-mail me at olmstedsheryl@yahoo.com. I can send a sample diary form; I used a lot ot them; carried them everywhere for years.

There is help; be patient and don’t give up.

Q: Constant headaches?
For the past three or so days i’ve been having constant headaches. Is it because im not getting enough sleep, stressed, or is it something i should get checked out?

A: i had the same problem go see a chiropractor like i did, went away the same day

Q: Why do I have constant headaches after dental work?
I recently had new fillings in my teeth and a wisdom tooth pulled out and ever since i’ve had constant headaches, what’s wrong?

A: The area is still sensitive and will be for a while. It’ll go away after awhile. Take some aspirin.

It could also be a side effect from the novocaine.

Q: Constant Headaches and what may be a cause?
I have had constant headaches for a few years now and nothing I’ve tried has helped, even seeing a doctor. I work in housekeeping and was wondering if being around all the chemicals might be a cause?

A: Here are some questions to ask yourself:
What kind of headaches do I have?
What kind of pain (dull, sharp, etc.)?
Where is the pain (back of head, side, front, all over)?
When do my headaches begin, end?
How frequently do you have these headaches?
Are all of these headaches the same?
Does anyone in your family have headache problems?

I’d recommend keeping a headache journal. Write down when they begin. Describe the type of pain and the location of the pain. What you did that day. What you ate. How you slept. Write this stuff down and keep writing for about a month. Hopefully you will see a pattern.

Are there any other problems that you are experiencing? (ie weight loss, vision problems, balance problems, etc.)

Have you been tested for allergies? You may be allergic to something in your environment that is causing a headache. If you have not been tested for allergies, you need to see a doctor to be tested.

I’d recommend seeing a general physician, a neurologist, and an allergy doctor. Just because you have seen a doctor, does not necessarily mean that you have been seeing the right doctor. See another doctor. Get a second opinion.

Good luck and I hope you feel better.

Q: what does diet coke have to do with getting constant headaches?
read a question earlier asking about causes for constant headaches. someone asked if that person drank a lot of diet coke. what does that have to do with it? i’m asking cuz i also have constant headaches and i do drink a lot of diet coke.

A: Diet cokes have caffeine in it……….to other answerers: this is not a question about caffeine………..

Any diet drinks, and other diet products/foods, contain Aspartame, a sugar substitute, with very high toxicity levels. It has been proven that it causes cancers, birth defects, among many others. The U.S.A. has the largest consumption of Aspartame, and it also has the highest rate of mental disorders.
There is one thing only that reproduce brain cells, and maintains a healthy brain, it’s sugar! Pure, plain Sugar!
Yes, your headaches are cause by the consumption of diet drinks. The sooner you’ll get off of it, the better!

Q: What is causing me to have constant pain under my ribs and headaches?
im a week late for my period and ive been getting constant headaches and pain on my abdomen frst in the left side now in both sides it comes and goes what can it be?

A: You don’t drink enough water.

Q: How do I get rid of constant headaches?
For about a month now I have been getting these constant headaches in between my eyes. Sometimes its a shooting pain on the left side in the back of my head and makes it hard to concentrate on what I’m doing. Asprin does not work anymore. What should I do?

A: Stress!! See your doctor to make sure, but stress is my vote!!!

Q: Does a chiropractor help for constant headaches?
I’ve had a headache every day for about a month now. My doctor referred me to a chiropractor and I’m waiting for them to call back about an appointment time. My insurance only covers 85% of a chiropractic visit. Is it worth it for constant headaches? What do they charge roughly?

A: I’ve gone to a chiropractor for my constant headaches and it has not helped at all. I’ve been going for a few months and nothing has gotten better. I hope you feel better soon. I know how awful it is.

Q: Why do I have constant headaches?
I’ve had constant headaches for over a year now. I tried aspirin and tylenol and nothing is helping. I tried some home remedies but they didn’t work either. Could someone please tell me what is wronmg with me. I just want to know so I can get rid of these unbearable headaches. It’s hard for me to concentrate on anything. Sometimes when I smoke a cigarette it gets worse and my whole body starts to tingling and go numb. I also have high blood pressure. Please someone help me out.

A: Only a doctor or specialist can tell what causes your headache. I used to have headaches too, but now they are totally gone. I think it is because i started consuming ginger every day. Ginger helps dilating blood vessels which increases the blood flow to the brain. That is why i believe ginger cured my headache. There are also some natural remedies which you probably didn’t tried yet:

Q: what could be a solution to my neck and constant headaches?
for about the last 4 years ive on average popped my neck at least twice a day which i just found out can be real bad. it could be because i never exercise… anyway for the past week ive had really really bad constant headaches. what can i do

A: pl see what suits you.
If you are in cold country use all warm things.
Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm.
If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help.
Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment for almost all pains.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don’t treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves’ juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.

Q: I get constant headaches what can I do?
I get constant headaches and I normally take an aspirin and it would sooth a way the pain but get gets back again.

A: Headaches can be caused by sooo many different things and are a common symptom of many problems. If your headache does not go away by regular means and only gets partial or temporary relief from medication, I would go and see a doctor about it.

8 years ago, I started getting non stop headaches that were only slightly relieved temporarily by the regular remedies such as tylenol, excedrin and ibeuprofin. I went and saw a neurosurgeon and after a year and a half of bouncing from doctor to doctor and many, many different medications I was diagnosed with a genetic problem called Pseudotumor Cerebrii. It causes increased pressure in my cranium and that causes my non stop headaches and migraines.

I’m not saying that you have anything this severe, but headaches can mean food allergies, stress, eye problems, dehydration, teeth grinding, sleep problems, a sinus infection and so many other things.

Things that you can do to help reduce the pain until you see the doctor is turn down loud music, get away from flourescent lights if you can, wear sunglasses outside, drink more water, use cold packs on your head and neck, eat a balanced healthy diet low in salt and sugar, continue your aspirin and be VERY careful not to take to much, set up a regular sleep pattern and try your best not to alter it. For me, it helps to stay in a darker, cool room when it gets bad and I try to stay away from very strong odors like perfume.

Hope this is informative and not scary! Good luck, I share your head pain.
