Q: What are some good classical songs for relaxation?
Hi,

I’m a teenager who is overly stressed, and who suffers from chronic headaches every day due to my disability and lack of sleep, neither of which I can nothing about.

What are some good instrumental only pieces that I can listen to to help me relax? I like blues, and some jazz too, but mainly just classical.

Thanks
-Isabel

A: Isabel – I have a CD called “Classics for Relaxation” that I bought from KMart like 10 years ago. Here is what is on it:

Mozart Violin Concerto #5 movt 2
Beethoven Piano Concerto #1 movt 2
Tchaikovsky Piano Concert movt 2 (not very relaxing though)
Cesar Franck Symphony in Dm movt 2 (beautiful piece)
Bruch Violin Concerto #1 movt 2 (another beautiful one)
Schubert – Music to Rosamunde – Intermezzo #2
Schubert – Symphony #5 movt 2

Also, I would personally recommend Elgar’s Cello Concerto, especially played by Jaquelline du PrĂ©, if you can find a version, I’d buy it if I were you. It puts me to sleep sometimes, its so wistful and beautiful, the first movt especially.

You can also try 1st movt of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata,
2nd movt of his Piano Concerto #5,
Movt 4 from Mahler’s 5th symphony,
Barber’s Adagio for Strings,
The “Meditation” from Massanet’s “Thais”,
Most Sibelius Symphonies are also very relaxing to me, I guess it is just the flowing nature of his music, like rivers running deep.

Also recommend Claire De Lune, of course.
Boy Wonder

Q: Help with religion project?
For my religion project i have to pick a saint and find out what its the patron saint of and find a song that goes with it.
I have Saint teresa of avila and hers is headaches but idk any songs about headaches or something.
any help or songs you may know? :)

A: “Headache” by WEEZER (I know, kind of an obvious title)

Or, you could just play some really awful music and explain that it works for Saint Teresa because it has the ability to give headaches!

Hope this helps!

Q: What about Jonathan?
I have heart palpitations, noone cares about me anymore, I don’t want to talk to the doctor, i’m literally on the bridge of total loneliness because in our family we argue much so do not talk so much and friends are rare at the moment, my mother and father are old, my mum’s had blood problems could die, my father is obese like myself, could die, younger sister will suffer, mother in different town, older sister lives in a different town, have little family and friends left, sometimes i feel like i’m going crazy, and i’ve actually planned on running away from home and thought of everything.. what about Jonathan? What about ME? A car came speeding towards me once, they were trying to run me over.. I did nothing to them I swear, i’m 15 yes but rebellious and unwell behaved like the rest of the teenages? No! Nosebleeds and headaches… So many songs playing and so many people offering to help but then people go and do stupid things… What next? I really am cursed.. i swear it on my LIFE..
I forgot to mention i’ve been threatened by strangers too. I need a free solution to get out of this stinking town to be free from the weight of the world, you have to help me because you are a stranger that does not know me. I’m feeling scared, this pressure will lead to the death of me, it really will, so you need to help me. How can I leave this town and live at the same time with no money and only at 15?? I really need to leave to put it all behind me please help me.

Oh and even better still i forgot to mention i’m also gay, and in hiding of that, the last time i came out i got kicked back in the closet, long story.

My life’s great isn’t it? Trade.. yeah?

A: my names jonathan…..

Q: Why does my iPod skip like a scratched CD?
It’s only for certain songs. But when I play them in either my iTunes or media player, it’s fine.

I’m thinking about hitting the restore button (I’ve already backed up my library) but I’m not too sure if that’ll give me more headaches in the end. Any other solutions are appreciated. Merry Christmas.

A: That’s wierd if it plays fine in iTunes, but skips on the iPod.
I was going to say the cd didn’t upload onto the computer properly, but if it plays fine in iTunes that’s not the problem

Q: Can you guess these songs?? :) ?
guess what 3 songs these are.

1~Every time I’m falling down
You take the repurcussions
Headaches and anxieties
Advancing my frustrations

Rush into my depression
Sacrifice everything
Waste with me into nothing
Well now you’re stuck with me

2~I sit alone in my bedroom
Staring at the walls
I’ve been up all damn night long
My pulse is speeding
My love is yearning

I hold my breath and close my eyes
And dream about her
Cause she’s 2000 light years away
She holds my malakite so tight so..
Never let go

3~A knocked down dragged out fight
Fat lips and open wounds
Another wasted night
And no one will take the fall

Where do we go from here?
And what did you do with directions?
Promise me no dead end streets
And I’ll guarantee we’ll have the road
also. if you arent gonna really answer the question.. and are just going to leave a rude comment, like the first post..then dont reply, its a waste of your time and mine. thanks

Q: Shouldn’t the praise leader have the final say on songs?
I am a praise leader of seven members. I have been doing this for about 10 years (since 15 years old) at the same church. Recently, new members have joined the team and most of them are in their late thirties. I am a bit confused but they’ve decided on their own that one of them is going to start picking the songs. This news came to me after the fact. I’ve had this same problem just 3 weeks ago and had to go thru headaches to fix this. I believe the praise leader should pick the songs. I put a lot of time and effort into everything I do and I just don’t understand why this has happened again. If there’s anyone out there actively involved in church, please tell me what your thoughts are. I encourage you to e-mail me should you have any questions. Thank you

A: The pastor should always be in charge of everything including the music. He may delegate all song choice to the praise leader- if so then its okay.
One problem I see with the praise leader having a free hand is that while most are good at performing a song, they may be too focused on performance and are lousy at song choice and or anything else.
Like musicians can do a song well, but they do not know what is best.
An artist can paint a good picture, but can not pick out an appropriate picture for a specific need.
If your pastor has turned this area over to you- then you have control- not new members of the team. You may want to discuss this with the members causing the trouble. If they are trying to point out some short comings in your leadership- them get someone else to attempt to understand their point. You may be blind to your own faults.
Again, you may be great, and your new members may just be a problem.

Q: I Need Two Songs For a Movie.?
Hey,I wanted to ask if someone could recommend Ending songs for the first two seasons of a show I’m making.
I’ve got the opening songs:
Foundations by Kate Nash (Season 1)
Harder,Better,Faster,Stronger by Kanye West(Season 2)

The show is about a group of teenagers who don’t get along, and come from different social levels of their school. They eventually meet a popular genius who is over his head in government and paranormal activities. The Genius starts out cynical and downright mean in the first 3/4 of season 1.Note:This show includes psychic happenings, conspiracy, and controversial religions.

There’s Geoffrey Thomas Lincoln,a jock-act-a-like.He isn’t really a jock, because he doesn’t play sports on a team.Geoffrey is very wealthy. He’s just about as rational and normal as one can get.He starts out as an atheist who is a girl magnet.Soon he begins to question his sanity as the group he joins has strange things happening around it.Geoffrey is of French/Italian heritage.(Their heritage plays a semi-important role.)

Derek Elliot Pierce-Skater Boy,with average friends, and average family, and a need to get out of the suburbs.Derek finds the weird and creepy really interesting, but doesn’t say much about it because his friends and family frown upon abnormalities.Derek binds the Genius to the rest of the group. The first opening theme represents Derek, only not ‘exactly’.Derek is a catalyst to the main protagonist.Derek is of Italian/Mediterranean heritage.

Patryc Tobias Moore is pretty much a modern day hippie.Patryc is seen as funny, sleepy, and sloth-like character. At first you might think this, but Patryc only acts this way because he doesn’t want to act anything like his father.Patryc is good at analyzing personalities and details. He’s also good at Poetry, and eventualy gets notice for his poetic talent.Patryc is a misunderstood artist.Patric is of African/Asian heritage.

Carys Marie Klamp is a spunky girl who isn’t very well liked because of her eccentric style. She’s been in every school club at one point or another, leaving each one.Her excuse,”Their all too boring!”.Carys is seen as the genius’ adovtive little sister. So when Carys and Geoffrey get kinda close, the genius gets angry.Carys always sides with Geoffrey, though, because Patryc and Derek side with the genius.Carys is of French/Native American heritage.

Finally,The Genius!!!

Jeremie Versious Sinclair is a genius in his own right. Not only that, but he’s the most popular guy in two school districts.Girls LOOOOVE him,and guys wanna BE him.Jeremie, although, hates everyone.Being around people frequently gives him headaches.Jeremie is introduces as very self assure, but also blatant about his dislike for his fellow humans. He,however, puts that aside and enlists the help of Carys and Patryc, who then introduce Jeremie to Geoffrey. It’s a little while latter that Jeremie meets Derek.Derek was trying to spy on a Jeremie and his group one day,and Jeremie spotted him.Jeremie eventually got tired of Derek’s stalking and questioned him about it.Soon they became inseparable.Although,at first,Jeremie was just useing Derek like the others.Together the two evolve throughout their time together and become the stories “Night’s in Shining Armor”.Patrcy and Derek also spend a lot of time at Jeremie’s “house”.(It’s really about 1/3 the size of a mansion.)Patryc, who stays there away from his father, and Derek because Derek is a must-know kind of person.Jeremie is great with technology and that is demonstrated when he,at several times hacks into Derek’s video games and ups the levels just for the fun of seeing Derek’s eye’s bulge.Jeremie comes from a long line of psychic’s and politicians who have managed to wrap their way around history.Jeremie’s only living relative is his mother Cassie(kas-ee).Her full name is Cassandra Anne Sinclair. His father was Benjamin Lousilious Sinclair.Jeremie also has a super heightened ability of talking to the dead.Jeremie is of British/Estonian heritage.

I’m sorry if the descriptions were long, but I really wanted to give enough information to get some good results.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us some recommendations for two good ending songs.THANKYOU!!!

A: season 1: Rex Goudie – Run (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6td5FvNj_E)

season 2: Closer – joshua radin (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ApU9W6YLPYk)

Q: Need ghost related songs.?
i read the book “The living and the Dying” and i have to make a soundtrack that represents scenes/themes/moments. Whether you read the book or not i need songs about ghosts or being haunted by them.

Here is some info:

In Natale Ghent’s The Book of Living and Dying, the daily experiences of a high school senior, Sarah, are punctuated by horrible flashbacks to hospital scenes. Sarah is mourning the death, from cancer, of her elder brother John. These unpleasant memories relate to his terminal illness. Or do they?

Sarah is haunted by her brother. The odor of earth and rain signal his approach. His appearances, to sit on her bed, are not a source of comfort; rather, she pleads with him to go away. Ongoing headaches plague her, for which she takes codeine.

Sarah has no adult to confide in, as her father predeceased her brother, and her mother is withdrawn. At school, she has only two friends, Peter, who is over-protective and wants to be her boyfriend, and Donna, a daring rebel.

This highly descriptive and evocative work seems to be moving along the lines of a traditional teen “problem novel,” until Sarah meets a new student. His name, Michael Mort, should signal to anyone who knows French that he is more than just a teenage boy. Michael Mort looks older than seventeen and sports a goatee. His “dark, brooding looks” convey “thinly veiled disdain.” He has a coyote tattooed on his shoulder and explains that in mythology it is a trickster with the power to assume other forms. Michael Mort’s hobby is taking still photos and animating them, creating videos in which the person seems to be alive. He makes such a video of John. He and Sarah fall in love.

Donna suggests that John may be haunting Sarah because he is “in limbo” and having trouble “crossing over.” In a book store, the girls come upon a Book of Living and Dying, which may be the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Sarah reads that hauntings are rarely violent but are generated by the living person’s thoughts of the deceased and their incapacity to atone. Death can be confusing for the dead, she reads. They can get lost on their journey. The living must hold a ritual so that the dead person knows what has happened to him.

Author Natale Ghent excels in employing tried-and-true symbols and plot devices to create an unsettling atmosphere. These include trap doors, woodland circle ceremonies with magic mushrooms, Tarot cards, a visit to Salem and a fortune teller. The dying kingfisher, which appears toward the end of the novel, ultimately ties in with a broken blue bottle but is interesting as an allusion to the Fisher King, a legend of death and rebirth that one finds in the Arthurian legends, in Percival, and The Wasteland.

The cover blurb of this novel suggests that it is a cautionary tale about the consequences of abusing alcohol and drugs and taking up with bad companions. It isn’t! Rather, it is a story of the supernatural in the same category as the movies, Sixth Sense and Crossing Jordan. For much of the story, Sarah does not know what is real and what she is imagining, and neither does the reader. One assumes that the hospital flashbacks pertain to John’s illness, but since the patient is not specified, they could apply to Sarah, as could Donna’s remarks that the dead sometimes don’t know they’re deceased and must be eased into death.

This novel cries out to become a horror movie. Along with staple devices from film and literature, Ms. Ghent brings her own warped slant on something as wholesome as the coming of spring. Sarah, looking out her window, sees the hatching of baby birds as depressing.

A: There’s a really good song by Alison Krauss called “Ghost in this House”. It’s really sad but amazing. There is also a song by the Indigo Girls called “Ghost.”

Q: Death/Heavy Metal vocalist getting headaches, please help!?
Hey there,
Im the screamer in my Death/heavy metal band. I do low, gut filled screams like that of Deicide (roughly :) ), the thing is, my voice is absolutely fine as well as my throat and vocal chords. The only problem i get is these huge, pounding, agonising headaches for about 30-50 seconds after the song ive just screamed finishes. I was wondering if any vocal coach or any peeps out there know what i can do to solve its problem, cause its really agonising and really annoying me!
Thankya,
Bassdude :)

A: You are wearing earplugs right??
When you sing, you are possibly hyperventilating to get the series of screams out for the length of the song. Lack of air causes short term headaches.
Maybe work on breath control, lung capacity and doing singing exercises that strengthen the diaphragm.
One is to sing the scales with Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha…. while your fingers are kinda pressed into the diaphragm. You want to make it contract and flex with each Ha and feel it push into your fingers.
It’s silly looking and sounding but is one of the most effective quick warm ups before any kind of massive vocal adventure.

Q: What are some things I can do this summer to entertain myself at home by myself?
I am spending just about every day of the summer by myself. Im on day 2 and Im already bored out of my mind. I have drawn, written songs until I cant think of anything else to write about, played guitar until my fingers bled, read until I got a headache and Played on the computer until My eyes hurt.
